A story I cannot tell
Written in 2024, this text emerged alongside performance work concerned with silence, closure, and bodily ownership. It functions as a parallel body to live actions structured around refusal and the containment of breath.

A story I cannot tell is the sound of the door closing. It is not a slam, but a click. The finality of a mechanism engaging. I hold my breath, not to stop the sound, but to keep the air inside me from leaving, as if my breath is the only thing that belongs to me in this room.
